The Manitoba Rural Traffic Control Handbook is written specifically for Manitoba rural municipalities,
towns and villages and Cities, to be used as guide of traffic control practices on Municipal roads and
within rural communities and is consistent with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Canada.
It is intended to be an easy to read and simplified supplementary reference guide written for public works
and administrative personnel, reeves, councilors and enforcement officials. It will cover the policies and
procedures for installing & maintaining all regulatory, warning & information signs including basic
information on temporary traffic control and traffic calming. The cost of the Handbook is $79.00 plus G.S.T.

1/2 DAY SEMINARS
TSECMB also extends to all municipal elected officials a 1/2 day "free" SEMINAR on Traffic Control
Policy & Practices, liability reduction and how to mitigate traffic safety issues. Simply give us a call
and arrange a day and time and we'll drive out to your location. The 3-hour seminars will be offered
 throughout the year.
Remember! We offer free advice on resolving traffic issues. If required we will meet
with elected officials and or residents to help mitigate any traffic safety concerns or
requests for signs. We have the knowledge and expertise in dispute resolution and in
determining the best solution to your traffic safety issues. Take advantage of our “not-
for–profit” free services and we are available days, evenings and weekends to attend
public hearings and council meetings or community forums. No issue is too small.

2010 CROSS MANITOBA WORKSHOP SERIES

Traffic Safety Manitoba is now taking applications for our 2010 Workshop
Series. We will be offering both our
TRAFFIC CONTROL WORKSHOP
and our new
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL IN WORK AREAS
WORKSHOP
. Both 1 day Workshops will be offered on-site or at pre-
selected locations throughout the year.

In addition to in-class training, participants will obtain "hands-on"
experience installing traffic control devices and temporary traffic control.
This is an opportunity to gain the knowledge and insight in the
installation of traffic control devices and signs in accordance to the
“Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Canada”; which was
adopted in the Highway Traffic Act as a statutory requirement for
installing traffic control and signs in Manitoba. Participants will obtain a
basic understanding of implementing temporary signs and barricades in
construction zones on or near roadways in both in rural and urban
environment and be able to review temporary traffic control set-ups by
private contractors undertaking roadway or utility works within the
roadway right-of-way. The Workshops are presented by our experts with
thirty years of experience in temporary traffic control. We encourage all
"new" or existing  public works personnel to attend.
